When Did I Conceive?

When Did I Conceive?

So, you're pregnant and wondering when you may have conceived. Maybe you're also trying to understand what this means for your next step. There's never a charge to speak with one of our nurses. Text or call (815) 559-5722 to get started.

There usually isn’t a way to know the exact moment conception happened. But your menstrual cycle, ovulation window, and an ultrasound can help give you a clearer estimate.

What Date Did I Conceive?

Whether you just found out you’re pregnant or you’re further along, there are a few ways to estimate when conception may have happened.

Ovulation usually happens about two weeks before your next period. If you know the first day of your last period and your average cycle length, you can estimate your fertile window and possible conception timing.

Conception Date Calculator

A conception calculator can give you a general idea of your fertile window based on the first day of your last period and the average length of your cycle.

If you’re not sure how to calculate it, you can use the tool below or text a nurse at (815) 559-5722.

Keep in mind, this is only an estimate. Every cycle is different, and ovulation can happen earlier or later than expected.

It’s also possible to become pregnant from sex that happened before ovulation, because sperm can live inside the reproductive tract for several days.1, 2

Conception Date from Ultrasound

Another way to estimate how far along you may be is through an ultrasound. An ultrasound can help measure the pregnancy and give you more information than a calculator alone.

An ultrasound can also help you learn important details about your pregnancy, including how far along you may be, where the pregnancy is located, and whether it is continuing.3

White Oak Women’s Clinic offers free ultrasound services for eligible patients after a positive pregnancy test. No insurance is required.
